The flowers of Podalyria burchellii grow mostly solitary from upper leaf axils. The long, unequal calyx lobes are woolly and longer than the tube. The peaflower resemblance is shared with the Fabaceae family and the Podalyria genus.

The corollas are pink, magenta or mauve in several shades, often with a white centre at the base of the notably notched banner petal. The flower is up to 18 mm long.

Blooming occurs from late autumn to after midwinter (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; Gledhill, 1981; iNaturalist).
