    The leaves of Pachycarpus concolor subsp. transvaalensis are opposite, elliptic in shape with wavy, entire margins. The leaf surfaces are hairy. The midribs of the leaves and their primary veins are uneven, creamy white and parallel, continuing to the margins that are slightly red in colour. The leaf folds in along its midrib.

    Leaf stalks are very short to almost absent. The plant contains milky latex, being part of the Apocynaceae or milkweed family.
