The variably shaped leaves of Pachycarpus concolor subsp. transvaalensis are opposite, elliptic with wavy, entire margins. The leaf surfaces are very hairy. The leaf midribs and their primary veins are uneven, creamy white and parallel, continuing to the margins that are slightly red in colour. The leaves fold in along their midribs. Leaf dimensions are from 4 cm to 12,5 cm long and 0,5 cm to 4 cm wide.

The leaf stalks are very short to almost absent.

The photo was taken near the Blyde River (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; iSpot; JSTOR).
