Like all new growth on Polygala asbestina, the stem-tips are thinly downy. The dark green leaves have becoming curvature, those at the stem-tip paler for a while.

The midrib is notable from the slight, central fold in especially the youngest of the blades, rather than being visible itself. The leaf-tip would be rounded if it wasn’t for the small, beak-like ending. The leaf-shape seen here is obovate, its petiole short. The leaf margins are thickish and rolled under. Upper leaves on the plant are sometimes narrower and oblong, tapering to the base (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; JSTOR).
