Two Phylica rigidifolia stem-tip clusters of fluffy spherical buds and open flowers show the woolly outside surfaces of their calyces; still globose in the buds and five erect, pointed lobes in open flowers.

Five pale anthers, rounded on the outside are positioned lower than the calyx lobe tips, surrounding the three-lobed stigma on the short style. The insides of the calyx lobes may have central ridges fitting into the gaps between the anthers.

The leaf margins are white next to the slits on the lower surfaces of the leaves. The leaf-tips curve down slightly and initially have tiny mucros at their tips (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
