The fruits of Phylica lanata are ellipsoid to obovoid capsules topped with persistent calyx remains. Initially these tips are white-woolly, but the five pointed sepal lobes of each are later parted as the fruit expands, forming an apical ring, initially enhanced as a five-pointed crown.

Fruit colour is a deep maroon brown and glossy for some time. The fruits dehisce when ripe.

In Phylica the seeds are usually three-sided and smooth (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
