    Phylica buxifolia flowers are small but many in axillary and stem-tip clusters, their smell not pleasant.

    The leaves are ovate, shiny green on their upper surfaces. Phyllikos means leafy in Greek. This plant can be used as a hedge or garden plant in winter rainfall areas or with winter watering (Coates Palgrave, 2002; iNaturalist).
