Pteronia fasciculata, the paraffienbos

The dry, old flowerheads of Pteronia fasciculata persist for long at stem-tips. This plant was photographed at the start of winter when the seeds were already ripening (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot; JSTOR).
