Syncarpha eximia, commonly known as the strawberry everlasting and previously scientifically as Helipterum eximium, is a robust shrub or shrublet. It is mostly single-stemmed, reaching heights from 30 cm to occasionally taller than 1 m.
The species distribution is near the coast in the southern Cape from Caledon in the Western Cape to Humansdorp in the Eastern Cape.
The habitat is cool and moist, south-facing fynbos slopes. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Manning, 2007; Moriarty, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
