Syncarpha argyropsis bract tips

The white bracts surrounding Syncarpha argyropsis flowerheads may also be less sharply pointed as in the photo. Part of the blunting appearance is caused by the incurving of the tips but maybe not all of it.

These flowerheads are not young, their disc florets already brown instead of yellow. All the florets are bisexual in discoid heads, can produce one seed each. Younger bracts may be straighter (Manning, 2007; Mustart, et al, 1997; iNaturalist).
