The bigger stem-tips of the Serruria fasciflora bush each has an about flat-topped inflorescence comprising multiple pale capitula or flowerheads. The colour differences among individual heads represent the developmental stages, batches of closed perianths to open florets topped by stiffly erect styles or spent perianths in which the emphasis has shifted to early fruiting, the vital goings-on below in the ovaries (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; Mustart, et al, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
