The leaves of Serruria aitonii are divided, sometimes repeatedly, into thread-like segments that ascend in an oval bowl-shape from the rachis or midrib. The leaves are covered in crinkly, pale hairs. Leaf segments are dark green to greyish with yellowish, pointed tips. The leaves become from 2 cm to 4,5 cm long (Manning, 2007; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://proteaatlas.org.za).
