The leaves of Serruria candicans are divided into needle-like segments, seen here to grow densely around a stem-tip inflorescence and curving upwards. The segments are short and terete or cylindrical, finely hairy and here yellowed before their pointed, dark red tips. Leaf dimensions are 25 mm to 55 mm long and 2 mm to 15 mm wide.
The leaf colour may be seasonal reflecting summer conditions, the photo taken in February. The leaves are often grey-green to silvery (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
