Schizochilus crenulatus spike appearing branched

The spike of this Schizochilus crenulatus, seems as if it has branched; possibly only the erect ovary of the flower at the bend causing the illusion.

The small white flowers in their droopy inflorescence are white, mauve lines or dots occurring on the perianth segments (www.africanorchids.dk; www.orchidspecies.com).
