The linear leaves of Selago villicaulis grow in whorls scattered along the stems. In picture the ridged stem is much lighter coloured than the dark-green, pointed leaves.
The leaves are slightly glossy and often faintly channelled on top. Leaf margins are rolled under. Both stem and leaves bear soft hairs, the leaves mainly along the margins (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
