Selago luxurians, previously (partly) scientifically S. dregei, is a shrublet reaching 40 cm in height. The stems are coarse from a covering of spreading hairs.

The species distribution is in the east of the Western Cape, the eastern Little Karoo and coastally around Riversdale, ranging to the Eastern Cape as far as Kariega (Uitenhage). The photo was taken at the Minwater farm near Oudtshoorn.

The habitat is sandy scrub and fynbos slopes. The species is not considered threatened in habitat early in the twenty first century (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; Wikipedia; https://www.worldfloraonline.org; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
