The creamy white, bent “legs” inside a Schizoglossum hamatum corolla cup are the outer corona appendages, better described in botanical parlance as finger-like processes flanked by vertical wings.

They arise from the base of the staminal column and change direction inwards. The brown, five-pointed part on top is the inner corona, or more precisely, the gynostegium with its associated anther appendages.

In Schizoglossum the inner corona is the fusion of stamens and styles into a central column, topped with anther appendages that may resemble a star-shape (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
