    The small Sparaxis villosa flowers grow in a few-flowered, one-sided spike. The papery floral bracts are streaked brown. Bloomtime is late winter and early spring.

    The flower in picture has yellow base parts on the two upper lateral tepals, with short black lines in the yellow. This feature is absent from the flowers of some plants (Manning, 2009; Manning and Goldblatt, 1996; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
