The five-pointed calyx of what was a Searsia dissecta flower persists in star-shape at the back of the fruit. The pale brown to faintly pinkish fruits have shine as well as surface unevenness.
Some of the usually dark green blades of the angular leaflets appear bluish in the light captured in the photo. Leaflet venation shows strongly against sunlight, almost invisible on leaves seen from above, apart from the indentation. Some leaves in picture are straight, others curve in to their tips while a few arch in along their midribs (Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
