New growth at a Searsia angustifolia stem-tip may also be greyish pink, the older leaves here bluish rather than green. Between the pink and the blue there is a brief grey-green stage in the half-grown leaflets.

Near the leaf-growing activity at the tip, the currently flourishing tree has also produced inflorescences in bud (Coates Palgrave, 2002; iNaturalist).
