Satyrium macrophyllum flowers are deep to pale pink, sometimes white. The sepals and petals are oblong with rounded tips, the petal pair slightly shorter than the sepals. The lateral petals spread widely, the petals less so, pointing more to the front on the flanks of the median sepal slightly below them. Brown bulges are present below the concave lateral sepal tips.
The lip forms a graceful hood over the column in the flower centre, the peak of the hood angling forward; a short, upturned flap over the mouth like a lip of the lip. A narrow keel positioned from back to front protrudes at the top of the hood (Pooley, 1998; www.zimbabweflora.co.zw).
