The cup-shaped calyx of the Solanum tomentosum flower on its long hairy pedicel in picture ends in long narrow, acutely pointed lobes. There may be ten of these lobes here, the maximum normally found on Solanum flowers.
The tomentose feature, hairy or particularly a layer of matted woolly down upon stems, leaves and calyces is certainly present in picture. What is less common is the purple colouring on some of the hairs.
The spines or prickles on the plant in picture are also not consistently present on these plants (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Shearing and Van Heerden, 2008; Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
