The fruiting stage has commenced among developments upon this Tetragonia decumbens stem. In the early stages the four yellow sepals dominate, the green ovary behind them still small. Later on, the ovary is larger than the closed, rounded sepals that eventually turn black before they drop off and the four-winged fruit on its fleshy stalk will remain.
The oblong to obovate leaves curve down laterally and up towards their tips. the soft reddish stems are hairy as are the sepals. The stems are often green or bluegreen (Manning, 2007; Smith, et al, 2017; iNaturalist).
