These two pale stems, one small and the other large both belong to Vachellia sieberiana var. woodii. The small one may be a coppice part of the big one.
Irrespective of size, the typical beige or buff colouring as well as the peeling and flaking of the bark are in evidence upon both stems. The paper bark feature arrives quite soon when branches are still thin, as visible in the photo. The pairs of angled, long, white spines with their reddish tips disappear from bigger branches and the main stems (Coates Palgrave, 2002).
