Wahlenbergia cernua

Wahlenbergia cernua, the scalloped Cape bell, is a rough-haired annual, sprawling or erect and growing from 5 cm to 60 cm in height.

Elliptic, toothed leaves are scattered along the stems.

The plants are found in the Western Cape from Tulbagh to the Cape Peninsula and eastwards to Swellendam.

The habitat is damp, sandy, mountain slopes covered in fynbos. The habitat population is deemed of least concern early in the twenty first century (Manning, 2007; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; iSpot; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
