Apart from the purplish redness on the mature Ursinia calenduliflora leaves signifying stressful growth conditions, they present the normal features of the plant’s foliage.

Channelling is visible on the leaf midribs or rachises, as well as on the narrow primary divisions or segments as well as on some of the secondary ones. The oblong secondary divisions are often of markedly uneven length.

The new growth started in response to recent rain is green; times have lately been improving. Those leaves that have changed colour during earlier suffering have not acknowledged the respite (yet). Some of the green tips are turning rosy.

This foliage presents design ideas for people doing lacework (Manning, 2009; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
