The fruit of Wiborgia leptoptera is a flat, woody pod ringed by a peripheral wing.

The fruit-shape is variable with crests on its flanks, in the centre over the seed. These crests are up to 2 mm wide. The one-seeded fruit is indehiscent, i.e. it does not burst open when ripe. The fruit measurements are up to 16 mm long and 9 mm wide. The peripheral wing is slightly wavy and strongly reticulate from uneven, clearly visible veins. It has an irregularly shaped perimeter.

The pale grey, older branches are woody with conspicuous, longitudinal striations (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; www.worldfloraonline.org).
