Wachendorfia thyrsiflora leaves

The broadly lance-shaped leaves of Wachendorfia thyrsiflora grow in a loose, two-ranked fan from the underground rhizome. The blades are oriented edgewise to the stem, pleated, acutely pointed, and hairless.

The leaves persist through the growing season and may arch outwards in graceful curves (Manning, 2009; Bean and Johns, 2005; iNaturalist).
