The beginnings of an inflorescence is emerging at ground level between the leaves of this Trachyandra falcata plant.
It is yellow-green, dominated by pointed green bracts below each bud. These bracts will be negligible among the flowers once the raceme is fully developed. There is an additional, large, encircling bract at the base of the inflorescence present in this species.
The stiff, glaucous (blue-green) strap-leaves have hard, orange-coloured to pale yellow margins. The usual falcate or sickle-shaped aspect of the leaf-shape is not seen in this photo (Manning, 2007).
