The overall Trachyandra muricata inflorescence is initially a densely compact affair. Long, thin, brown bract tips dominate early among the whitish green, globular buds. There are bracts at the base of every bud-bearing branch, as well as at every bud pedicel.
As the inflorescence develops, upper branches elongate, providing space for buds to become flowers enjoying much individual space.
The six-tepalled flowers are white marked brown, nodding in the eventually wide, loosely branched panicle with tepals recurved, i.e. bent back. Each flower becomes 1 cm to 1,2 cm in diameter, lasting about one day (Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
