The quill-shaped leaves of Trachyandra revoluta are dull to deep green, hairy and slightly succulent, sometimes undulate or with a slight twist. Older leaves may angle lower or become prostrate. Basal, papery sheaths are sometimes visible, also around individual leaf bases. The leaves grow in a basal tuft, from 10 cm to 40 cm long.
The photo was taken in August after rain. The leaves tend to dry out in summer heat (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2009; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
