Zygophyllum lichtensteinianum woody stems

Old stems of Zygophyllum lichtensteinianum become woody, grey or grey-brown in varied shades of pale grey. Some flaking and superficial fissuring are visible on the bark. Signs of browsing are present upon the twigs (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; iSpot).
