    Buddleja auriculata has glossy, ovate-lanceolate leaves positioned opposite each other on the stems. The upper leaf surface is dark green and glossy, the lower one white and velvety. The veins and midrib are indented above, giving the leaves a wrinkly, puckered appearance above. Veining is prominent on the lower surface.

    The flowers are small, narrowly trumpet shaped, fragrant and borne in sprays within leaf axils near the branch ends. The flower colour here is yellowish to creamy-orange. In other forms of this plant the flowers may be mauve, lilac, salmon or white (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Schmidt, et al, 2002).
