Bauhinia natalensis is a scrambling shrub of up to 2,5 m, hardly a tree but is numbered as such (SA Tree List No. 208.5). It goes by the common names of dainty bauhinia and in Afrikaans as fynbeesklou (fine cattle claw).
Flowering happens almost throughout the year, a fact appreciated by hungry pollinators like the one caught here in the act.
