Brabejum stellatifolium open floret

The usually only four white, hairless segments of the small Brabejum stellatifolium perianth or flower form a cylindrical bud before opening. They recurve strongly when open, the style tall, erect and green-tipped in the centre.

The stamens are slightly shorter than the perianth segments. The linear, flattened filaments of the stamens are free from the base of the perianth (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist; http://pza.sanbi.org).
