The flowers of Brachylaena neriifolia grow in dense, axillary and terminal heads during summer. The flowerheads are pyramidal in shape, up to 7 cm long. They are white or creamy white, fading to brown. There are rusty brown hairs on the flowerhead stalks.
The fruits to follow (on female trees) are small nutlets topped with tufts of long, creamy bristles.
The leaves are short-stalked. They are alternate or spiralling up the stems. Leaf midribs are whitish (Coates Palgrave, 2002; Van Wyk and Van Wyk, 1997).
