A Braunsia apiculata leaf-pair is a thickly succulent body comprising two attached, three-angled pyramids topped by tiny, spiny protrusions, here dry and curved.

The leaf margins and keels are conspicuously rimmed and coloured dull beige to grey with pink near the top; the blades dull blue-grey. There is faint mottling and hints of fuzz or papillae on the leaves in the photo.

The leaf tips veer back from the slit in the centre, the keels skewed sideways in the same direction (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist).
