In the open flower section of a Bulbine cepacea raceme the greenish median line present along the centre of the tepals is visible both on the inside and outside surfaces. The tepals spread widely below the furry filaments, erect and tipped with bright yellow anthers.
Each flower lasts about one day, giving way to adjacent ones higher up in continual blooming until the ones at the top turn into fruit (Manning, 2007; Bond and Goldblatt, 1996).
