    The hoods or median sepals of Disperis fanniniae flowers shown here are deep, broad and rounded. They become up to about 2 cm tall.

    Slight purple colouring is visible on the lateral petals adjacent to the median sepal. The narrow lip is mainly green. Disperis flowers have their mouths divided into two lateral openings by the flexed lip that is erect in the centre, in front of the column (Pooley, 1998; Manning, 2009; iSpot).
