The green bracts of Disperis stenoplectron are boat-shaped, adhering so closely to the ovaries of the flowers that only bracts and corollas are visible in the photo.
Notable flower colour is mainly borne on the three sepals, the petals being white or in picture yellowish, the lip small and effectively concealed. Flower colours include shades of purple and pink, also some white and green.
Below the inflorescence the plant grows two to four alternate, stem-clasping leaves that reach 2 cm to 4 cm in length (Pooley, 1998).
