Disperis concinna flower

This Disperis concinna flower view shows a back to front ridge across the top of the dorsal sepal, smaller ones on the sides. Some large surface cells give the pale pink sepal an uneven surface. The two lateral petals are borne just below the lateral margins of the dorsal sepal, following its curved shape.

The lateral sepals are broad in their short middle sections, attenuating conspicuously to long, curving tips. The sepal spurs protruding from behind the sepal blades are creamy white. The cylindrical, translucent rostellum arms that were housed inside these spurs during the bud phase are visible, protruding downward on the sides of the flower centre (Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Pooley, 1998).
