    Stem-tip leaves of Didelta spinosa can be a study in closely gathered undulations. The margins of the broad, erect leaves veer in the direction of the lower surfaces apart from where the stiff, straight spines protrude, pale and sharp like overly righteous family members.

    The bright green, glossy leaf surfaces are quite similar on their upper and lower sides. Some veins in fishbone pattern are visible in the lower parts of leaves where they show themselves.

    Effective photosynthesis can be expected in such a food factory on a sunny day (Manning, 2007).
