    The fleshy green leaves of Drimia virens are long, thin and terete (cylindrical). Leaves become from 5 cm to 20 cm long. They may be absent from this deciduous geophyte when the flowers appear, although present on these plants flowering in the Kogelberg during November.

    The leaves seen here hardly reach halfway up the inflorescence (www.pacificbulbsociety.org; iSpot).
