A Dicoma fruticosa flowerhead has four or five rows of acutely pointed and fringe-margined involucral bracts that overlap, forming a cylindrical involucre. In picture the bracts are brown, the visible parts roughly triangular.

The few white, pale purple or pinkish, ribbon-like ray florets spread and curve. They are neuter. The tubes of the about five bisexual disc florets end in five strongly recurving lobes.

The stamens are exserted far. The style is cylindrical, swollen at the base and two-branched at the stigma (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Netnou and Van Wyk, 2007: A Key to Dicoma Taxa (Dicomeae) in Southern Africa. Bothalia 37,1 (2007); iNaturalist).
