    In their grassland habitat these Disa cooperi plants in flower stand tall as any proud miniature soldiers might. Their presence on the ground is undenied, even if their numbers don’t spell dominance.

    What all these plants are doing all the time is merely trying to ensure the future presence of their kind on the land capable of sustaining them (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
