The flowers of Disa patula var. patula are pale pink to nearly white here with tiny scattered dark spots on the corolla. The flowers may also have a darker pink to purplish colour and the flower structure may be somewhat more slender.

The dorsal sepal has a square appearance, the hood protruding forward, straight on top and dipping sharply near its tip. The spur at the back of this sepal is fairly straight or curves down slightly.

The lip is long and thin, protruding forward. The two lateral sepals spread sideways at a forward angle, straight with slightly wavy margins. The bract subtending each flower is narrowly pointed, drying out early from the tip. Oblong leaves with tapering tips occur up the scape to the flower spike.

Flowering occurs in summer (iSpot; www.zimbabweflora.co.zw).
