Disa baurii flower colours include this pale lilac form.

The median sepal curving over the flower centre is broadly ovate, bowl-shaped and up to 2 cm long. Inside the bowl of this median sepal the coloured lateral petals of the corolla, small and two-lobed, lie against the sides of the bowl.

Above the median sepal, growing from its base, a buff, narrowly oblong structure can be seen, upturned with rounded tip. This is the spur of the flower that becomes up to 6 mm long.

The large, wing-like lateral sepals spreading below are oblong to elliptic, from 1 cm to 1,8 cm long.

The lip of the flower positioned below its centre is the main attraction. It points forward, probably to serve as an insect landing pad. It is up to 2.5 cm long with shape broadly ovate and conspicuously fringed by finger-like, fleshy protuberances (http://orchids.wikia.com; iSpot; www.zimbabweflora.co.zw).
