Disa intermedia flower in profile

Seen from the side, the Disa intermedia flower shows more of the shape of the dorsal sepal that broadens in its upper part, revealing a bit of lateral petal below, where it is narrower.

The long, curved spur is longer than the ovary that is nearly fully covered by its green bract. The upper, tapering parts of the bracts are reddish, withered early.

The lip below on the right may be slightly longer here than the lateral sepals, although the angle of the view is deceptive (www.sntc.org.sz; www.sntc.org.sz).
