Disa stachyoides leaves

The few bright green leaves borne by a Disa stachyoides plant sheathe the stem, overlap and end in acutely pointed tips. The leaves are erect to somewhat spreading. In picture the leaves show entire margins and keeled or in-folded blades that undulate slightly.

The leaves decrease in size up the stem, grading into the floral bracts. The leaves are 6 cm to 10 cm long, occasionally up to 15 cm (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; www.sntc.org.sz).
