The half-open Delosperma saxicola flower presents a ring of erect, oblong petals around an ample cluster of yellow anthers in the centre. The flower spreads to a diameter of 20 mm to 24 mm, the petals about 8 mm long and 1 mm wide.
The sepals are faintly hairy as clearly visible along their margins, the similar leaves lower down possible as well.
The photo was taken in June in Kirstenbosch (Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; http://pza.sanbi.org).
