New, succulent Delosperma leendertziae leaves of a lighter colour emerge from the axils of the longer, older, incurved leaves. The fully developed leaves are distinctly channelled on top with rounded keels and pointed tips.

Branching occurs readily near stem-tips where the buds also emerge. Bud pedicels elongate by the time flowers open. Some internodes between leaf pairs become fairly long when the growing is good.

The flower in picture is pale on its petal bases, its fairly short petals curve out, their tips notched (Smith, et al, 1998; Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; iNaturalist).
